Getting ready

Ok this is funny... I created this blog and cannot figure out how to respond to comments left here... if anyone knows please let me know... hahaha. Made a list today of things that  I will need to take with me to chemo. It seems now that I will need a moving truck.. wonder if they have a loading dock at the doctor's office??? Found out yesterday that no family or friends are allowed in the room with you while receiving treatments. That really bummed me out, but the nurse explained since this is an all women facility it is done for their privacy. You walk in and it's one big room with several chairs. The nurse (Tiffany) stated that everyone becomes like a support group in there. We shall see I guess. They did say I could bring my laptop and phone so I can call or get on pc while receiving treatments, so now Brian (my husband) has hatched a plan. He ran right out and bought a web cam. Now that I have one and he has one he says we can now be together during chemo all we have to do is turn the web cams on and chat.. I guess there is always more than one way to skin a cat..haha.. I have a feeling that once the nurses know what we are up to we will be asked to turn them off... you never know though.. technology is an amazing thing ...so far I am loving it. Ok so got pc, mp3 player for jamming and Brian also mentioned I should take a few movies as I could watch them on pc as well... this might not be so bad after all.. NOT!!! haha I will make the best of it you can count on that. Ok now back to that moving truck... how will I get everything I want into chemo???? Wow... blanket, pillow, books, laptop, mp3 player, cooler with drinks, snacks, socks, journal, puzzle books... the list goes on.. I am hoping that in time I will get better at this blog thing and can bring you good updates. One of my besties Terrie and my husband Brian will update you in the event I am not feeling up to it. If you have any suggestions on blogging or on anything for that matter let me know.. Please keep the prayers coming as I can feel them every day... they make such a difference.. I love you all ..

  4. Good morning Sunshine!!

You'll have a better feel for what you need to pack & tote after your first treatment. When TW was having chemo, the Longstreet Cancer Center in Gainesville, GA provided "heated" blankets (Oooo-La-La!), pillows, drinks and snacks for all of the patients. So, you might not need a moving van after all...just a Hot Looking Pickup Truck. (Which, thankfully, you already have!)

That's the good news. Now for the bad. Baldness may not be an excuse. I "went" reddish-brown for just over 4 years...and never saw the slightest reduction in blonde moments. It seems to be a condition that we are born with and never outgrow...even when there is more gray (or the latest color of the month) than blonde. I finally gave up and "went blonde" again. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there you have it.

You already know that I and a lot of other people are praying for you each nite at 9pm when our cell phone alarms ring and we pray for the troops, our country and our families. That ain't stoppin'. I also pray for you most times when you cross my mind...which is about 50 times throughout each day!

Keep your chin up! I agree with Claudette, you're gonna be an inspiration for not only the ladies "in your boat", but also for your support group members who are watching you in awe.

Reminder: I'm here. Day or nite, via text, cell, email, IM, or that awesome new toy WebCam!!! I LOVE seeing your smiling face!!

    Love you bunches!! TyDi Forever!

  5. Good morning my sweet, kind of figured I better start shortening my list as the moving truck is just too expensive... hehe... Brian has a bag that I think I can get most of my stuff in along with my chemo bag that you gave me... gotta have that. I am sure that after my first visit my list will get much smaller..all the prayers have been amazing.. feeling stronger every day... having a little trouble with getting everything straightened out at work concerning short term and all which is upsetting me at the moment because I would so love to have everything worked out before I start first treatment. I really don't want to have to worry about this stuff in between treatments, but will do what I must of course. I can only hope and pray that I am an inspiration as I want to be so strong through all of this.. I truely believe my strength right now is due to so many prayers and the support that I continue to receive each and every day from family and wonderful friends and you.. you the amazing rock in my life... I could not nor would I want to go through this without you... hearing your sweet voice and seeing your beautiful face (via web cam) each day gives me so much joy and hope.. I love the way you love me and will never be able to say in words what you mean to me... I love you so much... I kind of figured the blonde moments would continue hair or no hair... hahaha.. I mean who would Diane be without them????? now I will just have to call them bald moments... hehehe. I love you my sweet Terrie and hope you have an amazing day and look forward to our video chat tonight.. xoxoxoxox

  6. Awwwww, you make me blush! Being able to (virtually) sit across the table from you in the evenings gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day too! I'm loving having regular "face-to-face" visits with my best bud (and my daughter and grandbabies!) instead of y'all being 300+ miles away. Ain't technology grand?! Make it a great day Baby! C-ya tonight! xoxoxoxo!
